It’s been a long couple of months, weeks, days, hours and yet we are here again.
I haven't been active for a while and for good reason.
I’ve been working/trading.
I have been prioritizing the trading over the documentation more as of recently and I feel like coming back and saying hello.
I hope you are doing well and trading well.
The market is different post election but it’s probably also the best trading environment. So many moves up and down with lots of volatility.
Especially within the Nasdaq.
It’s the only instrument I trade or even look at daily and it has had quite the year, 5 months in.
Trading has been good this year. [ More good than bad and that’s all we can ask for. ]
If the good outweighs the bad, then we always have a chance to get payouts.
And I have gotten consistent payouts the past 3 months, with no payouts for January and February, but $23k so far for March, April, and May.
It’s the best I have done with consecutive months, with a total of 9 payouts.
June and July will probably be slow because I’m going to be busier with work.
I’m also looking to reduce my size so I can execute even better.
With the payouts, there have also been a bunch of missed opportunities, about $12k worth of those.
These are moments before a payout when things just went downhill with some accounts.
These are accounts that got so close enough to the dotted line, but never actually crossed it.
These I’m categorizing as tuition/expenses of running a business.
They don’t feel good - having spent plenty of energy and effort to fall short, but it is what it is.
This is a known fact about trading, most folks come across it pretty early into their journey, hopefully just not losing too much when they occur.
With that being said, I’m looking to use the slower pace as a chance/excuse to start writing again and sharing more about the journey.
The goal and dream is always consistency, more than profitability.
I think I have proven to myself I can be profitable, I need to work on risk to manage those payouts and great execution.
Till then, the work of dialing down towards very robotic, consistent-like behavior is a never ending one.
I’m happy to be here and looking forward to more experiences and nuances.
I will share them as they become available as well as include the documentation of how things are going, numbers, psychology, strategy, and anything that comes up.
Till next time,
Abraham
